German food….aka the reason they can drink so much

There are many sitght to see here but my days are mostly filled with “…what should I eat next?”. For those who don`t know, when you travel life gets much simpler…but don’t worry there’ still just as much Facebook involved.

When I arrived at the Train Station in Dortmund Oliver took me out for some traditonal German food. This is a tasty bagel with a meat spread that can only be described as scrumptious.

A 500ml beer = normal in Germany = trouble

So it would help give some context for me to show you that they sell 500ml beers here….yes that is correct half a liter of sweet 4.8% beer.

So after drinking about 5-6 of those beers in one night (I’ve never been much of a counter…or one to say no to free beer) plus shots of schnapps. One definitely needs one of these in the morning. Especially if you’re going to be jumping off 10m poles that day….(see previous post ). It’ turkish in origin, first you choose the type of sauce you want then they put the shaved meat in and then a whole bunch of vegetables. Hard to eat at first cause it’s so jam packed but it gets easier with time.

Finally we had this delicious lunch just outside of a castle. It was curry sausage with fries gravy and mayonaise, very good !
