Looking for an apartment is about as fun as brushing your teeth with sardines. Craigslist is good but it tends to have a whole ton of out of town postings in specific areas where they shouldn’t be, enter Padmapper:

Padmapper takes all the housing listings from Craigslist, Kijiji Aparments.com etc and put them on a Google map so you can search by area. Furthermore you can filter down base on price, walking distance to work and a whole slew of great options.

Next time I’m looking for a place I’m going Padmapper all the way!
