Langara Photo-Imaging Program – A whole new category

Alright,

I’m a reference/knowledge/book pack rat. I’ve kept all my binders and textbooks from the Langara Professional Photo-Imaging Program I graduated from in 2009… I kept them because photography is a very personal process and I felt like it would be throwing away a part of me. The part that spent 12+ hour long days hunched over in the darkroom or above a sensitometer measuring lightness values on a negative. The biggest reason of all is I kept them because I’d like to go back to Langara and teach there myself (working on that right now as I assist there).

I’ve had “Do a Blog post of a Langara Binder” on my to do list for about 3 weeks now and it’s time to bite the bullet. I’m going to use this blog to go through each course I took and document the projects I did and the lessons I learned from them. Is it going to be perfect, probably not, I’m not a Wikipedia level editor (…my caveat for the fact some cursing might be involved).

I’m not sure what will come out of this project but I know I want to get rid of these binders and a big part of me can’t just throw away all the swipes, negatives, graphs, notes and doodles without documenting this somehow.

Curse of a Photographer, I guess.
