Event Coverage – Late Nite Art

Alright,

So I recently attended Late Nite Art and of course brought my camera along. The basic layout of the night is combine an up and coming chef, artist, DJ, facilitator/MC and a whole bunch of art supplies.

  • Chef serves up delicious food all night
  • Artist gives a quick talk on their work/process. In this case it was the very talented illustrator Ola Volla
  • MC gives you a creative thread to pull at to make some cool art (ie: “Draw with your eyes closed”, “What’s what most important gift you turned down?”)
  • DJ spins sweet turns while you’re making said art

I’m a self professed stick figure artist so this was a nice creative kick in the pants to just fail away on paper. I’d love to do it again sometime soon! You should definitely stay tuned for the next one via the Late Nite Art Facebook Page (or just to see some VERY flattering pictures of me). Some of my images from the night below:

Event Coverage – Nurse Next Door

Alright,

I was asked to cover the Annual meetup of Nurse Next Door at The Sutton Place Hotel. I discovered through the night amazing people with even more amazing stories. The organization is filled with fun people that were a pleasure to capture (it’s always great to work with a group that loves to mug for the camera and doesn’t take themselves too seriously).

Event Coverage – Lift off to London, Olympic Athlete Send Off

Alright,

I was recently contracted by Canadian Sport Centre Pacific to cover their Lift off to London event in Vancouver. The event started with a private media mingler at the Creekside Community Recreation Centre followed by a public celebration at the Salt Building with some autograph signing by the many athletes there.

Scott Dickens was a great speaker and had a great speech that revolved around the phrase “Why not me?”. It’s a great perspective that I’ll take forward with me for business and sports in my future.
